Interface

The Interface is the proposed web application through which scientists, biopharma partners and rights custodians reach NEWMA, each through a separate interface. Identity and rights policy are designed to be checked first.

This page describes a proposed architecture. It is not evidence of an existing deployment.

How it fits the platform

Every request from the Interface is designed to pass an API layer that checks identity, permissions and rights policy before any other component acts.

Separate interfaces for separate roles

The web application is designed with separate interfaces for scientists, biopharma partners and rights custodians, so each group sees the controls and records suited to its role.

Checks before work

Requests are designed to pass an API layer that checks identity, permissions and rights policy. Authorization is designed to evaluate the tenant, project, purpose, agreement, asset restrictions and user role, using Open Policy Agent.

State changes and events

Scientific records and their pending events are designed to commit together in the relational database, a pattern known as a transactional outbox. An accepted request then stays recoverable even if a downstream service is briefly unavailable.
