Wet Lab

Wet Lab is designed to close the loop: approved assay requests reach the laboratory through an eLabFTW adapter, and results return to scientists for review.

This page describes a proposed architecture. It is not evidence of an existing deployment.

How it fits the platform

Results are designed to flow back to Scientific Review, and only observations a scientist accepts become evidence that updates later prioritization.

Assay requests through an adapter

Approved assay requests are designed to flow through an eLabFTW adapter, carrying the protocol, endpoints and controls. The adapter is designed to reconcile samples and results against NEWMA records and to keep the external record identifiers.

Results return with their context

Results are designed to return with raw data, replicates, uncertainty and failures. Missing, substituted or mislabeled samples are designed to enter a hold that needs a disposition, and repeated imports are designed to create no duplicate observations.

Recorded is not accepted

A result recorded in the laboratory system and a result accepted by a NEWMA scientist are designed to be distinct states. Only accepted observations count as evidence, and predictions never become experimental ground truth. Training a model on accepted labels needs a separate authorization.
